Dinosaur dictation
Procedure
• The class is divided into groups of 4-5.
• Assign a coloured card with a text to each group
• Stick the cards on the classroom walls away from where the groups are sitting
• The objective of the activity is for the groups to get the test from the card on the wall into their notebooks as fast as they can. One person from each group should go to their text, read and remember one or more sentences and then go back and dictate it to the rest of the group.
• When the teacher says “ Change!” the person who is dictating must immediately sit down and other member of the group takes over.
• Once they have finished, ask the groups to take their text off the wall, compare it to what they have written and correct mistakes.
