Questa ricerca è di tipo longitudinale, questo tipo di valutazione evidenzia l'evoluzione e le traiettorie perse dalla relazione fra sonno e comportamento. Lo studio

longitudinale è particolarmente raccomandato poichè considerando il campione studiato, ovvero soggetti in età evolutiva, i loro cambiamenti nella vita psicologica e fisiologica sono frequenti ed intensi. Perciò una ricerca a più misurazioni lungo un certo arco di tempo, può registrare se e come questi cambiamenti influiscono sulla relazione considerata in questo studio.

CONCLUSIONI

Dai risultati di questa ricerca emerge una relazione significativa tra disturbi di inizio e mantenimento del sonno (DIMS) e problematiche comportamentali di tipo

iperattivo/disattentivo, non si evidenziano invece relazioni tra disturbi del sonno e problematiche di condotta.

In conclusione le buone abitudini del sonno contribuiscono al benessere fisico e psicologico del bambino e alla prevenzione di comportamenti disadattivi a scuola. Lo studio presentato, nonostante le sue limitazioni (descritte in precedenza), ha preso in esame un tema molto importante per la salute e lo sviluppo di soggetti in età evolutiva e risulta, perlomeno per la nostra conoscenza, essere unico nel panorama italiano.
