At the end of 2006, 231.645 businesses were registered

in the Torino province, with a stock variation of 1,32% compared to the previous year: the number of building and tourism businesses keeps on growing.

With almost 17 million euro exports and a positive balance of trade, the Torino area ranks second amongst the exporting provinces in Italy.

In 2006 the drastic reduction of women unemployment made for a cutback on the unemployment rate in the Torino province.

The number of entrepreneurs from non EU countries, who stand for 4,4% of the entrepreneurs of the Torino province, is rising. The Torino University and the Polytechnic prove to deliver excellent training and have the highest number of graduates in the Engineering, Political Science and Economics faculties.

The number of enrolled foreign students is also going up in all types of schools: there has been a 22% increase only in the last school year.
