This is a selection of 20 puzzles from my Travel to Italy Puzzle Book.

The idea is to have fun while you pick up some new Italian vocabulary, specifically around the theme of travel. This sample includes:

The puzzles are designed to help beginners pick up new words, or intermediate students to brush up their Italian knowledge.

Word Searches

The word searches have Italian words that you need to find in the grid. Words can go in any direction: left to right, right to left, top to bottom, bottom to top, diagonally up or down. Each of the two word searches comes in two versions: a (more challenging) and b (less challenging).

Freeform Crosswords

The freeform crosswords have the clues in Italian, but there is also a section later, on page 26, with the clues in English, in case you struggle to understand the Italian clues.

Word Matches

These about matching Italian words to English words (translation), or Italian words to other Italian words (context).

Word Fit Puzzles

These is a type of puzzle where you need to place the words correctly within the grid.

Word Scrambles

These are lists of words that have been scrambled, and your task is to place the letters in the correct order.

Cryptograms

These are usually a quote from someone famous. Your task is to replace the numbers in the puzzle with the correct letters, and reveal the quote.
