Conclusion

We can conclude that TEL inhibited TNF-α-induced VCAM-1 expression and modulated H

-induced cell damage possibly by acting as a hydroxyl radical scavenger in HUVECs.

Whether those anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties, apparently independent of

either AT1R antagonism or PPAR-γ agonism, may contribute to prevent or delay the

progression of atherosclerotic vascular disease in clinical conditions awaits, however, further

evaluation.
