La campagna Ice Bucket Challenge è stata lanciata

nell’estate 2014 dall’ALS Association

(Associazione statunitense per la ricerca contro

la SLA) con lo scopo di sensibilizzare l’opinione

pubblica sulla sclerosi laterale amiotrofica e di

stimolare le donazioni per la ricerca.

L’Ice Bucket Challenge ha consentito di raccogliere solo in Italia 2,4 milioni di euro a favore dell’AISLA, l’Associazione Italiana Sclerosi Laterale Amiotrofica. Come spiegato sul loro sito questi fondi hanno consentito il finanziamento della ricerca e dell’assistenza dei pazienti affetti d SLA.

to improve patient care and compliance to treatment regimens.

While we are seeing an increase in use of technology and electronic communication channels by doctors, there is a paucity of information in the literature on how these

interventions affect patient outcomes.

Future studies should be directed towards investigating how technology and social media improve the utilization and adherence of immunotherapy.
