Da dove nasce la Sustainability Challenge di Fondazione Vodafone? Quali sono il contesto e/o le criticità a cui risponde questa sfida?
I clienti sono sempre più attenti a scegliere aziende che adottano una strategia di sostenibilità definita e ambiziosa e i cui prodotti rispecchino valori green. Vodafone è da sempre impegnata in questo ambito a 360° e nel novembre 2020 ha pubblicato, prima tra le telco italiane, i propri impegni di decarbonizzazione al 2025, 2030 e 2040. Per rendere ancora più concreto l’impegno di Vodafone, vorremmo lanciare una “green tarif”, ovvero una tariffa con un elemento “sostenibile”, per rispondere ai bisogni dei nostri clienti in questo ambito. La criticità di partenza sta nel differenziare in modo sostanziato la “green tarif”, con particolare attenzione al rischio di greenwashing, proponendo ad esempio la compensazione delle emissioni prodotte dal cliente, fornendo al cliente una e-sim oppure impegnandoci una volta raggiunti un numero X clienti a riforestare una particolare area geografica.

La Sustainability Challenge di Fondazione Vodafone:
La Sustainability Challenge di Vodafone è volta alla definizione di una
“green tarif”, ovvero una tariffa telefonica “verde” per i clienti mobile consumer. Chiediamo di ragionare e sottoporci i dettagli della tariffa (prezzo, contenuto ed elementi green) e anche alcune linee guida di marketing (tipologia e target de campagna, influencer da coinvolgere, piattaforme).

Key findings

• In Italy, only swap and save did reasonably well for consideration as amber (in line with benchmark),
whereas all the other concepts were red (below benchmark for consideration). All other key metrics
were amber (i.e. appeal, uniqueness) although Green Contract was red for all key metrics.
Key reactions for each proposition
• Swap and Save:
• Italy – Elicits emotion of excitement.
• 5Green:
• Italy – Scores particularly well for innovative, and elicits emotion of excitement, but slightly below norm on brand linkage (How well does the concept fit with your impressions of Vodafone?)
• Environmental Challenges:
• Italy – scores particularly well for innovative, and elicits emotions of thoughtful and excitement, but scores below norm on believability (How believable were claims made in the concept?), brand feeling (How did the concept change the way you feel about Vodafone?) and brand linkage (How well does the concept fit with your impressions of Vodafone?)
• Green Contract:
Italy – lowest proportion (below average) of idea ‘lovers’ for overall appeal range, and scores below norm for all key metrics across study
