4.3. Limiti della ricerca ·····································································

Come ogni indagine statistica, anche nell’elaborazione di questa tesi sono sopraggiunte alcune difficoltà e limiti.

Per rispondere ai 5 obiettivi di ricerca si è redatto un questionario piuttosto lungo; in tal senso le difficoltà si sono verificate sia durante la fase di stesura, poiché ha previsto un processo di analisi di studi precedenti riguardo a ciascun obiettivo e la successiva traduzione dalla lingua inglese alla lingua italiana e, infine, alla lingua spagnola, e sia

durante la fase di somministrazione. Il metodo CAPI presenta, come tutti i metodi che prevedono una somministrazione face-to-face, il problema del reperimento dei soggetti disponibili all’intervista e, in una città cosmopolita e industriale come Barcellona, la popolazione si è mostrata piuttosto avversa: circa una persona su dieci “contattate” si è effettivamente fermata a svolgere l’intervista mostrando per lo più un atteggiamento scontroso e infastidito.

Si sono riscontati limiti di tempo: 15 giorni per ottenere un minimo di 300 interviste; limiti del metodo di campionamento: si è optato per un campionamento non probabilistico a scelta ragionata, non avendo a disposizione una lista completa dei turisti spagnoli che hanno svolto una vacanza in Italia, e la selezione autonoma dei luoghi dove effettuare le interviste.

Si riconosce, infine, che la sola città di Barcellona è riduttiva come rappresentazione della popolazione spagnola; sarebbe stato opportuno effettuare tale indagine anche in altre città geograficamente dislocate.
