Summary: Singular generalized function groups are studied.After recalling the fundamental notions and definitions, we prove that for a singular group some properties of ordinary groups are still valid, as the existence of the

reciprocal group and the extension of every group to a group a maximal rank. Finally we prove by means of an example that it is not always possible to find, for a group of maximal rank, a canonical basis.
