Presentiamo in questa appendice una tabella dei governi italiani dal 1946 al 2008. Sono stati considerati tutti i governi che hanno prestato giuramento e ottenuto la fiducia del Parlamento nell’ordinamento italiano nel periodo 1946-2008. Per questa ragione la lista differisce da quella proposta in Cotta e Verzichelli (2000), i quali hanno omesso alcuni governi poiché intesi come proseguimento di quelli creati precedentemente. Un governo è considerato in carica fino al giorno in cui esso è stato rimpiazzato da un altro. Un governo dimissionario, infatti, continua a esercitare le sue funzioni fino al momento in cui si viene a creare un nuovo esecutivo.
