CONCLUSIONI
Il nostro studio ha confermato la presenza di non completa concordanza fra diagnosi radiologica ed ecocardiografica, come già messo in evidenza da alcuni studi precedenti117,118,119, ma ha dimostrato una maggior sensibilità e concordanza di alcune
specifiche proiezioni, valutate singolarmente o in associazione, per la rilevazione delle varie tipologie di ingrandimento cardiaco prese in considerazione.
Sulla base del nostro studio, la proiezione LL dx nel cane ha elevate possibilità di individuare correttamente un ingrandimento cardiaco sinistro, con la possibilità di avere un ridotto numero di falsi positivi ed inoltre di ridurre il numero di falsi negativi rispetto alla proiezione VD/DV.
D’altra parte, in base al nostro studio, la proiezione VD/DV nel cane ha maggiori possibilità di rilevare un ingrandimento cardiaco destro, con la possibilità di ridurre sostanzialmente la percentuale di falsi positivi e negativi rispetto alla proiezione LL dx. Nonostante ciò, abbiamo potuto constatare che per la rilevazione di ingrandimento cardiaco bilaterale nel cane, nel caso in cui le condizioni del paziente lo permettano, è consigliato effettuare le due proiezioni radiografiche in associazione, poiché il loro utilizzo determina un aumento della sensibilità diagnostica.
Sulla base del nostro studio, per quanto riguarda il gatto, la proiezione VD ha una maggior possibilità di rilevare correttamente un ingrandimento cardiaco sinistro rispetto alla proiezione LL dx.
Infine, come nel cane, per la rilevazione di ingrandimento cardiaco bilaterale nel gatto, secondo il nostro studio, è indicato effettuare entrambe le proiezioni, poiché la loro valutazione in associazione aumenta la possibilità di identificare tale ingrandimento.

Grazie a tutti coloro che sono qua oggi, ed anche a chi non c’è.
Le prime persone che voglio ringraziare sono la Prof.ssa Simonetta Citi e il Dott. Tommaso Mannucci. Grazie per tutto quello che mi avete insegnato ad oggi e la passione che mi avete trasmesso, per un mondo visto in bianco e nero, con infinite sfumature di grigi, da osservare con occhi aperti e attenti. Non dimenticherò mai la mia prima immagine ecografica di un surrene, e sarò felice di continuare a stupirmi ed emozionarmi ogni giorno, per ogni piccola scoperta. Siete stati i miei fanalini da seguire nella notte, come due piccoli surreni mineralizzati di un gatto.
Grazie a tutti i miei cari Citini, senza i quali questo percorso non avrebbe potuto essere così bello e pieno di emozioni, positive e negative.
